A former royal guard at Buckingham Palace said he was instructed to “keep quiet” by the Metropolitan Police after making allegations about Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor.

Paul Page, who worked at the Buckingham Palace from 1998 to 2004, said he later received a letter from a senior Metropolitan Police official after alleging that the ex-Duke of York brought several women into the palace late at night.

The letter reminded Page of his obligation to maintain “confidentiality and respect for the privacy of those who are protected,” The Times reported. “It’s trying to say, in the nicest possible terms, ‘Can you shut up?’” Page said.

Page said several other protection officers were also instructed not to speak publicly.

Buckingham Palace’s Security Compromised

Page also accused the former Prince Andrew of preventing official logs recording the names of his guests.

The fresh accusation comes amid claims that some of the guests could have been trafficked victims of late sexual offender Jeffrey Epstein. Page is now in contact with the Thames Valley Police, who arrested Andrew on suspicion of misconduct in public office on February 19.

Page alleged Andrew used coded language to communicate with his staff. He allegedly told the royal staff when the women arrived: “Mrs Windsor will arrive shortly, please let her in and show her up.”

Page, who was convicted in 2009 of running a £3million betting ring at Buckingham Palace, alleged women were allowed into the palace without security clearance even while Queen Elizabeth was in residence, which he said violated security protocol.

Page claimed footmen escorted visitors to Andrew’s rooms and protection officers feared losing their jobs if they questioned the visits.

Royal Protection Officers Urged to Come Forward

Scotland Yard said detectives are contacting protection officers who worked with Andrew. “They have been asked to consider carefully whether anything they saw or heard during that period of service may be relevant to our ongoing reviews and to share any information that could assist us,” a Metropolitan Police spokesperson said, according to The Guardian.

Authorities are also reviewing claims that Jeffrey Epstein used United Kingdom airports to traffic women. “Following the further release of millions of court documents relating to Jeffrey Epstein by the United States Department of Justice, we are aware of the suggestion that London airports may have been used to facilitate human trafficking and sexual exploitation. We are assessing this information and are actively seeking further detail from law enforcement partners, including those in the United States,” a Metropolitan Police spokesperson said.

Andrew is under police scrutiny following renewed investigative activity.
