FBI Agents Back in Nancy Guthrie’s Neighborhood as Chilling Details Unfold

The agents interacted with the neighbors on March 5.
Agents from the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) returned to the neighborhood of Nancy Guthrie in Tucson, Arizona, on March 5, where they were seen searching the area around her ranch-style home. The agents visited some houses and spoke with residents, and will be present in the area for several more days, according to a Fox News report.
The renewed activity follows reports that a pair of black gloves discovered near the 84-year-old’s residence had been traced to a local restaurant employee. Authorities with the Pima County Sheriff’s Department did not disclose the reason for the latest visit.
FBI agents reached Nancy Guthrie's neighborhood and spoke to people around the vicinity.
Former FBI Agent Comments on the Renewed Activity
Former FBI agent Jason Pack said the bureau’s return to the neighborhood should be viewed as a positive sign for the investigation.
“It means the Guthrie case is still in motion. What looks quiet from the outside is the investigative cycle turning,” Pack said in an interview with Fox News Digital. “When agents canvass for doorbell and surveillance footage in the first 48 hours, they are working with a rough timeline – but timelines sharpen,” he added.
“As cell phone records come back, as Walmart purchase data is analyzed, as the suspect’s clothing gets traced through retail channels, the timeline tightens and suddenly a neighbor’s answer that seemed irrelevant three weeks ago becomes critical,” Pack said.
Guthrie was reported missing after she was allegedly abducted from her home on January 31 after attending a family dinner. Although the Guthrie family recently announced a $1 million reward for information, the case has yet to see any major breakthroughs.
“There’s so much that everybody wants to know, but I would be very neglectful and irresponsible, as a law enforcement leader, to share that with everybody. You can’t. There is an investigation, there is a protocol to that effort,” Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos said in an interview with KVOA.
Savannah Guthrie Spotted at Today Studio
Meanwhile, Savannah Guthrie was spotted at the Today studio on March 5, marking her first appearance there since the disappearance of her mother, Nancy Guthrie.
A ‘Today’ spokesperson confirmed that Savannah Guthrie will eventually return to air.
Sources close to her said she is expected to return to the show soon. “Savannah Guthrie stopped by the studio this morning to be with and thank her TODAY colleagues. While she plans to return to the show on air, she remains focused right now supporting her family and working to help bring Nancy home,” a show spokesperson said in a statement to Fox News Digital.
Savannah Guthrie, her sister Annie Guthrie, and her brother-in-law Tommaso Cioni also recently visited the memorial outside Nancy Guthrie’s Catalina Foothills home. Sharing pictures of flowers placed by loved ones at the memorial, Savannah said she “feels the love and prayers from our neighbors, from the Tucson community”.
