Savannah Guthrie’s Latest Statement

Savannah Guthrie shared in a recent post on Instagram, “We still believe. We still believe in a miracle. We believe she can come home. ‘Hope against hope,’ as my sister says. We are blowing on the embers of hope.”

The NBC News anchor added that the family needs closure more than anything right now. Acknowledging that her mother may have died, Savannah said, “We also know that she may be lost, or she may already be gone. She may have gone home to the Lord she loves, dancing in heaven with her mom and dad, her beloved brother, and with our daddy.”

“We accept that possibility, but we need to know the truth,” Guthrie said.

Even as the Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos urged the public to view the Guthrie family as victims instead of suspects, Cioni’s involvement in the abduction is still being questioned by conspiracy theorists. Cioni had dropped his mother-in-law off at home after a dinner on the ill-fated night of January 31.

“It was easy to believe Annie and Tommaso were involved, but it was just theory and speculation. To have law enforcement come out and specifically clear them, I have sympathy for what they have surely gone through being accused in the massive spotlight of this case,” one person wrote on X.

Sharing pictures of flowers placed by loved ones at the memorial, Guthrie said she “feels the love and prayers from our neighbors, from the Tucson community”.

“So sorry, people keep accusing the sister and son-in-law, they are hurting. Prayers,” one person commented on the memorial post.

Guthrie Case Update

Meanwhile, the Pima County Sheriff’s Department revealed new information about the black gloves discovered near Nancy Guthrie’s home. “Black gloves found about 2 miles from Nancy Guthrie’s home were traced through DNA to a local restaurant employee,” Nanos said.

However, that individual is not “part of this investigation”, Nanos confirmed, adding that lab analysis on other DNA evidence remains ongoing.

Sheriff Chris Nanos shared the latest update on the missing case.

"There's so much that everybody wants to know, but I would be very neglectful and irresponsible, as a law enforcement leader, to share that with everybody. You can't. There is an investigation, there is a protocol for that effort," Nanos told KVOA.

Until new answers emerge, Nancy Guthrie's disappearance remains a troubling mystery for both investigators and the family waiting for the truth.
