Due to the intensity of the crash, the vehicle was split in half.

According to the police, the 27-year-old was showing signs of impairment, with a DUI investigation later revealing that he had a blood alcohol concentration of .165.
Navarrete, who was previously convicted of DUI and was driving with a suspended license at the time of the accident, was subsequently arrested in November 2024 on charges, including, Vehicular Homicide, DUI Manslaughter, Driving Under the Influence (Property Damage and/or Personal Injury), and Driving While License Cancelled, Suspended, or Revoked and Causing Serious Bodily Injury or Death.
"Navarrete had an outstanding bench warrant at the time of the crash. He was arrested on the warrant while at the hospital. BPD then obtained arrest warrants for Navarrete. He remained hospitalized for several days and, once discharged, was transferred to the jail’s medical facility," the Bradenton Police Department said in a press release published on November 4, 2024.
Although he pleaded guilty to all charges, the 27-year-old was sentenced to 25 years in the Department of Corrections. Additionally, his driver's license was also permanently revoked, and he must pay a combined $40,000 in fines and restitution.
Sara-Danielle Holmes, who passed away in a hospital on Sunday morning, was the "light of our lives and her daughters," said her mother following her passing, WISTV reported.
"She was the light of our lives and her daughters; how do you tell them she’s not coming back?" Holme's mother said at the time.
Her family also launched a GoFundMe following her death, which has received 670 donations so far and raised $56,579 of its $100,000 goal. The fundraiser was launched by Sara's cousin to support the victim's daughters.
"I created the GoFundMe to help raise money for my cousin Sara’s daughters, whom she left behind," the fundraiser stated.
"Anything would be appreciated during this difficult time. She had two young daughters who just lost their mama, and her family needs the financial assistance to assure her daughters will be taken care of," the fundraiser continued.
