D4vd, whose real name is David Anthony Burke, once a viral music star, is now a convicted felon. The singer became a suspect in November 2025 after investigations linked him to the case. The singer had already been under scrutiny since September, when authorities found a severely decomposed and dismembered body wrapped in a bag inside his abandoned vehicle on North Mansfield Avenue in Los Angeles.
The 2023 Tesla had first been left in the Hollywood Hills before it was towed to an impound lot. Authorities stated that they searched the car after receiving information of a foul smell coming from the vehicle. One week later, the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner identified the victim. It was Hernandez.
At the time of the discovery, D4vd was travelling across North America for his “Withered World Tour.” He continued performing during the tour for several days after the news broke, but later cancelled multiple dates without any reason.
“D4vd has been informed about what’s happened,” his representative said during the early investigation. “And, although he is still on tour, he is fully cooperating with the authorities.” On September 17, 2025, detectives from the LAPD’s Robbery-Homicide Division served a search warrant at the property where the singer was staying. Soon, D4vd hired a well-known Los Angeles defence attorney, Blair Berk, to take on his case.
However, it was recently revealed that he dismembered her body to hide any evidence and the reason behind the murder. It was reported that Hernandez threatened the singer of exposing their relationship to the public.
Personal Life and Career Before Arrest
New video shows that Hernandez might have been manipulated by D4vd
Before the arrest, D4vd was best known as one of music’s fastest-growing young stars. Born on March 28, 2005, in Queens, New York, and raised in Houston, Texas, he was homeschooled and eventually developed an interest in gospel music.
He first gained attention in 2021 by using his songs in Fortnite gameplay videos online. In an interview with VMAN, he shared that his first song was “Run Away,” which helped him discover his sound.
"The first song I made was Run Away, a super slow song where I was just trying to figure out my sound," he revealed to VMAN. "And then I made You and I, which is the first song I ever put in a montage. It was just for the montage, I didn't expect much. But then, people started using it in their montages, and I was like, 'Okay, this could be something,' so I kept making songs."
The singer later released hits including “Romantic Homicide,” “Here With Me,” and “My House Is Not a Home.” In April 2025, he released his debut album, “Withered.”
D4vd often spoke openly about faith and creativity. “I got my personal power from God for sure. Heavy believer in the Christian faith."
However, fans have been in denial of all D4vd’s earlier comments about faith and god after his arrest in Hernandez’s murder.
