Police said a Houston teenager shot a 65-year-old woman on Valentines Day, then stole her SUV and ran her over.

Owen Leonardo Vilanova-Ardon, 17, awaits a court hearing for capital murder. A second suspect remains at large.

Police said two young men shot Judy Walters in the parking lot of an apartment complex on Houston's west side around 8 a.m. on Feb. 14.

The suspects are then accused of forcing the victim out of her SUV, taking the wheel and hitting her as they sped off.

Citing court records, The Houston Chronicle reported both alleged assailants wore masks and were lying in wait for Walters for about eight hours. Police said several people recorded the deadly incident on their phones.

One of Walters’s children reportedly noted the slain woman was raising a grandson.

“The fact that there are some family dynamics that we are certainly looking into, I don't believe this is random," Houston Police Detective Dustin Crowder told KTRK-TV.

That station reported Walters’s stolen SUV eventually was located about 10 miles away from the crime scene.

Vilanova-Ardon was arrested Tuesday and ordered held without bond.

KRIV-TV reported the second suspect has not been identified.
