A 30-year-old Indiana woman has been arrested after allegedly killing the father of her children and his parents.

On March 24, Jenna Strouble was charged with multiple counts of first-degree murder in connection with the triple homicide in Will County, Illinois.

Investigators described the case as a targeted attack. During questioning, Strouble allegedly made incriminating statements, and authorities said a firearm recovered from her matched the weapon used in brutal killings, according to Will County Sheriff Mike Kelley.

What Happened?

At around 2 a.m. on March 23, a family member requested a welfare check at a home in the 3400 block of E. Norway Trail in Crete Township.

When deputies arrived on scene, they discovered the bodies of three adults — two men and one woman. The victims were later identified by the Will County Coroner’s Office as Jacob Lambert, 32, Stacy Forde, 54, Patrick Forde, 55. All three victims had been shot.

According to the Will County Sheriff’s Office, Lambert was found dead inside a car in the driveway, while his parents were discovered inside the home near the front door.

Authorities said Strouble had an on-and-off relationship with Lambert, and the couple had two young children, Ella and Rhett.

She allegedly fled the scene and returned to her home in St. John, Indiana, where she was taken into custody by local police.

The suspect is currently being held at the Lake County Jail in Indiana and will remain in custody until she is extradited back to Illinois to face the charges.

The Will County Sheriff’s Office thanked the St. John Police department and the Lake County Sheriff’s Office for their “quick response and full assistance during this investigation and for their commitment in bringing justice to this case,” in an official statement.

Domestic Violence Angle

In their statement, authorities noted that tragedies like this highlight the importance of seeking help in situations involving domestic violence.

Officials were previously called to a domestic battery at the house in January 2025 — which resulted in Strouble being involuntarily committed, according to the New York Post.

A Facebook user, Sheri Boniecki, commented, “This is domestic violence. And it can happen to anyone. Men, women, entire families. I am so deeply heartbroken for these children. May they be surrounded by love, protection and people who will show up for them every single day going forward.”

“Hold your people close tonight. Tell them you love them. And if you know someone who may be in danger, please say something,” she added.

Another user, Scott Kanady, wrote, “30 years old? Trying to wrap my head around how bad things must get to resort to this kind of behavior. My deepest sympathy and prayers for the whole family."
