Inside the 2017 Horror: Teen and Boyfriend Murder Grandparents, Party in Home for Days

A 17-year-old girl and her boyfriend brutally murdered her grandparents.
The double murder case from 2017 in Lawrenceville, Georgia, sent shockwaves across the nation and made headlines in local and national media. It involved a 17-year-old who allegedly murdered both her grandparents, along with her boyfriend. After committing the killings, the teenagers called their friends and partied for days inside the house.
The 17-year-old girl, identified as Cassie Bjorge, has been living with her grandparents in Lawrenceville, Georgia. The victims were identified as Randal Bjorge and Wendy Bjorge.
The bodies of the victims were recovered after concerned relatives requested a welfare check on the elderly couple. After the bodies were recovered, both Cassie and her boyfriend, Jonny Rider, were arrested by authorities. They were sentenced to life in prison in 2018.
Both Cassie and her boyfriend pleaded guilty to murdering the elderly couple. According to investigators, the grandparents had become stricter with Cassie, which authorities said was one of the motives for the killings.
Cassie and Rider pleaded guilty to stabbing and bludgeoning the elderly couple to death with a tyre iron. During the trial, Rider asked for forgiveness and described his actions as "evil".
"I know what I have done is abhorrent and is deserving of hellfire," Rider said. "I would like to express my deepest apologies to the Bijorge family. I am so sorry for the pain and grief I caused you," he added.
Cassie did not speak during the proceedings.

Investigation Details
According to police, the teenagers used a tyre iron, hammer, baseball bat, and butcher knives to kill the couple. They then went on to caulk doors inside the home to try to keep the smell of the bodies contained.
A detective later testified that both Cassie and Rider stayed inside the house, smoking marijuana and partying with friends for several days while the bodies of Randall and Wendy Bijorege lay upstairs. He also said their friends who were present at the party had no idea that there were dead bodies upstairs.
During the trial, both teenagers confessed that they were planning to kill Rider's family as well.
Trial of the Case
Prosecutors said both teenagers stayed in the home, smoked marijuana and called their friends over to party. Cassie also kept relatives from her grandmother’s cellphone so they would not become suspicious. However, a few days later, relatives requested a welfare check, and that is when the bodies were discovered.
Officers arrested the pair after a standoff with a SWAT team at an apartment complex.
