Michigan woman Lynette Hooker’s disappearance case has taken a new turn as the investigation into her disappearance continues. The 55-year-old allegedly fell off the dinghy in the Bahamas, where she went on a vacation with her husband Brian.

Citing extremely turbulent weather, Lynette’s spouse said he could not see her as she drifted away, and reported to the police a day later. The Royal Bahamas Police Force, however, arrested Brian in connection with the disappearance last week. And now, they have since released him.

Evidence Of Physical Abuse of Lynette Hooker By Her Husband

The timing of Brian’s release coincides with the surfacing of images showing Lynette Hooker allegedly being physically abused by her husband. The missing woman’s mother, Darlene Hamlett, recently informed the press that her daughter had left her husband multiple times due to alleged abuse. She also said her daughter was once left with a visible bruise on her back.

Speaking with NewsNation’s Ashleigh Banfield, Darlene said, “With the lifestyle that my daughter and her husband live, I had been preparing for that phone call for a long time. There were a lot of good times and bad times in my daughter’s relationship with her husband. A lot of highs and a lot of lows. When it was fun, it was really fun, and when there were bad times, they were bad times. I think they loved each other, but they were not good for each other.”

Darlene also shared images showing the injuries her daughter Lynette sustained after alleged abuse by her husband, Brian. Lynette also documented these moments, which served as a reminder not to go back to him. Lynette’s mother claimed that her daughter once booked a flight to return to her, saying the alleged abuse was escalating.

Suspected Foul Play In Lynette Hooker’s Disappearance

Despite Brian Hooker’s dismissal of foul play in his wife’s disappearance, statements by those close to the couple have suggested otherwise. For instance, Lynette’s daughter, Karli Aylesworth, called for complete transparency in the investigation into her mother’s disappearance. But she said she believes something unusual was behind Lynette’s disappearance.

On the other hand, a close friend of Lynette revealed that she had made a concerning statement. She had once confided her fear of traveling at sea with her husband, Brian.
