An 8-month-old baby was found dead with trauma to her head and neck. Now, police say her father has been arrested and charged with murder.

On Aug. 20 in Missouri, the child was found dead while in the care of her father, 24-year-old Dillon Snider, said Pulaski County Prosecuting Attorney Kevin Hillman.

An autopsy was done on the victim, which found the cause of death to be violent trauma to her head and neck, officials said.

A warrant was issued for Snider’s arrest and his bond was set at $1 million cash, authorities said.

Snider was arrested and charged with second-degree murder, abuse of a child resulting in death and first-degree endangering the welfare of a child resulting in death, officials said.

He is currently locked up in the Miller County Jail, police said.

Investigators have not said how the child sustained the injuries or how Snider allegedly caused them.

The investigation is ongoing, as the Crocker Police Department and the Missouri State Highway Patrol Division of Drug and Crime Patrol are handling the case, officials said.
