A Missouri teen was allegedly lured into a trap that resulted in his death. 15-year-old Miles Young thought he was going on a date with a girl. As the two drove around the city, another car blocked their way, and Young realized that it was all a setup.

But it was too late. The teenager was shot in the chest and soon died of the gunshot wound. The incident took place on March 12 when Young received a call from a girl, named as Juvenile Suspect 1 in court documents. The girl told him she was coming to pick him up so they could get intimate inside her car.

The teenager was shot in the chest and soon died of the gunshot wound.

Young’s friends warned him that the plan seemed like a set-up, as the girl had previously expressed hatred towards him. However, the victim decided to give it a shot and was soon picked up by Juvenile Suspect 1 in a black Mercedes.

Little did he know that the girl had allegedly planned an attack on him with her friends. While the two were in the Mercedes, another car forced them to stop by blocking the road. Young then realized that his life was in danger. He got out of the car and began to run.

18-year-old Yefry Archaga, the prime suspect in the case, came out of the other car and allegedly began chasing Young with a gun in his hand. The victim, horrified for his life, called one of his friends, who heard gunshots on the phone. Young also told his friend that he did not want to die.

But he was soon shot. When authorities arrived at the scene, they rushed Young to the Cox South Hospital, but he was pronounced dead. Meanwhile, Archaga fled the scene. As the investigation into the murder began, police arrested 18-year-old Praize King on March 18 for his alleged involvement in the crime.

The accused are being held without bond.

According to Young’s friends, he was targeted because he was going to testify in a 2025 homicide case. Both King and Archaga are now being held without bond. Archaga is also subject to a federal immigration hold.

Meanwhile, Young’s family is dealing with insurmountable grief and seeking justice for their son. A GoFundMe campaign has been set up to cover the victim’s funeral expenses. On the fundraiser page, the family remembered Young as a compassionate and loving boy. “He was a big brother, a son, a grandson, and a friend… full of life and always showed care for others. No parent should ever have to outlive and bury their child,” the family wrote.
