As the investigation into Nancy Guthrie’s disappearance entered its eighth week, the missing woman’s family released a new statement seeking help from the public and expressing their continued hope for her return.

However, one part of the statement has drawn attention, as experts believe it confirms a long-standing police theory about the case. In the message, the family initially thanked the people of Tucson for their support in the investigation. They followed up with an appeal to residents, asking them to provide more information that could help solve the case.

Nancy Guthrie’s Family Says Someone in Tucson Might Know Something About Her Kidnapping

Nancy Guthrie’s family says someone in Tucson might know something about her kidnapping.

The family added that they believe someone in the community has critical information that could help track Guthrie. “We continue to believe it is Tucsonans, and the greater southern Arizona community, that hold the key to finding a resolution in this case. Someone knows something. It’s possible that a member of this community has information they don't even realize is significant,” the statement read.

According to investigative reporter Brian Entin, law enforcement sources have echoed similar concerns and believe someone from Tucson might be involved in Guthrie’s disappearance. “I found that to be very interesting because it is something that I have heard over and over again. There is this belief that whoever did this is from the Tucson area,” Entin said in a YouTube video.

The reporter further revealed that some sources think the suspect could be someone from Nancy Guthrie's neighborhood in Catalina Foothills. “The person who did this may be right under the fingertips of police,” Entin said.

Entin said the family’s appeal to Tucson residents aligns with law enforcement sources' views. In the statement, released on March 21, the family said that even the slightest details from Guthrie’s neighbors could help identify the suspect.

“We desperately ask this community for renewed attention to our mom’s case — please consult camera footage, journal notes, text messages, observations, or conversations that, in retrospect, may hold significance. No detail is too small. It may be the key,” the family said.

The Guthrie family continues to seek any information related to Nancy Guthrie’s disappearance.

In the final part of the message, the family said they want to bring their mother back home. They acknowledged that she might not be alive, but said they want her to have a final resting place.

“We miss our mom with every breath, and we cannot be in peace until she is home. We cannot grieve; we can only ache and wonder. Our focus is solely on finding her and bringing her home. We want to celebrate her beautiful and courageous life. But we cannot do that until she is brought to a final place of rest,” the family said.

Guthrie, 84, went missing from her home in early February. The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and the Pima County Sheriff’s Office have been investigating the case ever since. However, neither Guthrie nor any suspect has been located.
