One of Nancy Guthrie's neighbors could hold the key to solving her disappearance case. The 84-year-old mother of Today host Savannah Guthrie has been missing for more than 45 days, but no suspects have been identified so far.

According to fresh reports, soon after Guthrie’s disappearance, something occurred in her Catalina Foothills neighborhood that raised eyebrows. Investigative reporter Dave Mack said that shortly after the woman went missing from her home, renters who were living in a nearby home moved out of the neighborhood.

Renters left Catalina foothills shortly after Nancy’s Guthrie's disappearance.

“In this one rental home, the neighbors moved out immediately after Nancy Guthrie’s disappearance. Now, read into that what you will, but they were there until the kidnapping and then gone,” Mack said during an appearance on Crime Stories with Nancy Grace.

The information comes as Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) agents are said to be back in Catalina Foothills to gather more information from Guthrie’s neighbors. Apart from the renters, investigators are also probing construction workers who were in the area around the time of Guthrie’s disappearance.

“So we’ve got the rental home, and we’ve got construction work,” Mack said, referring to the new leads in the case. Another local woman, Laura, also spoke about renters who left shortly after Guthrie went missing in an interview with Brian Entin.

Laura told the investigative reporter, “There aren't that many rentals on here, but there is a rental nearby, and whoever lived there had moved out within a few days of this happening.” The neighbor added that she realized the renters had moved out when she noticed their vehicle was no longer there.

“They had moved out a few days before because the car was gone. So I thought it's probably nothing, but I'm just gonna call, I'm gonna talk to them and just let them know that there was somebody living there and they're not there anymore,” Laura said.

She added that other neighbors also noticed their absence, and hence, everyone came to the conclusion that they had vacated the property.

Nancy Guthrie's neighbors have recalled several suspicious activities in the days leading up to her alleged kidnapping.

It remains unclear whether investigators have named the renters as persons of interest in the case. In recent days, Nancy Guthrie's neighbors have recalled several suspicious activities in the neighborhood in the days leading up to her alleged kidnapping.

Another one of her neighbors, Aldine Meister, said she saw a strange man hiding his face with a hat just about three weeks before the incident. She also said the man looked at Nancy’s home for a long time while walking down the street.

Nancy Guthrie was last seen on the night of January 31, when she went for dinner with her daughter, Annie Guthrie, and son-in-law, Tommaso Cioni. She was eventually dropped off at her home by Cioni. The following morning, she failed to make it to a virtual church service, after which an extensive investigation began to locate her. However, investigators continue to wait for a breakthrough in the case.
