Obama Debunks Area 51 Conspiracy Theory, But Confirms Aliens Could Exist

Obama said he believes in the existence of extraterrestrial beings.
Barack Obama claimed in an interview on February 14 that aliens are “real”, although he said he has not seen them.
Speaking to podcaster Brian Tyler Cohen, Obama, the former president, said he believes in the existence of extraterrestrial beings.
Obama said, “They’re real,” adding, “But I haven’t seen them. They’re not being kept at Area 51. There’s no underground facility —unless there’s this enormous conspiracy and they hid it from the President of the United States.”
However, the podcast host did not question Obama further.
Obama’s Statement Causes Online Frenzy
Obama’s remarks sparked a flood of memes and lively debates across social media. Later, the former president posted an explanation on his Instagram account.
The 64-year-old said, “I was trying to stick with the spirit of the speed round, but since it’s gotten attention let me clarify. Statistically, the universe is so vast that the odds are good there’s life out there.”
Barack Obama's statement on extraterrestrial life sparked an online frenzy.
Obama continued, “But the distances between solar systems are so great that the chances we’ve been visited by aliens is low, and I saw no evidence during my presidency that extraterrestrials have made contact with us. Really!”
Fans quickly responded with playful reactions in the comments section. “His speech is going around the world, and all I can say is, come back as the president of the hearts of the people, Mr. Barack Obama,” one user wrote.
Another Instagram user joked, “Did the aliens make you post this?!”
Obama’s Opinion on Trump’s Immigration Policies
Obama also addressed the recent deployment of thousands of immigration agents to Minnesota, criticizing what he described as the federal government’s “rogue behavior” during a month-long enforcement push.
According to a report by TIME, Barack Obama said the actions of the Trump administration resembled conduct “we’ve seen in authoritarian countries and dictatorships,” adding that such behavior was not something Americans were accustomed to seeing at home.
“It is important for us to recognize the unprecedented nature of what U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement was doing in Minneapolis, St. Paul, the way federal agents were being deployed without clear guidelines or training, pulling people out of their homes, using five-year-old's to try to bait their parents,” Obama said, referring to the case of 5-year-old Liam Conejo Ramos.
“So the rogue behavior of agents of the federal government is deeply concerning and dangerous, but we should take a moment to appreciate the extraordinary outpouring of organizing, community building, decency, neighbors buying groceries for folks, accompanying children to school, teachers who were standing up for their kids, not just randomly, but in a systematic, organized way, citizens saying, “this is not the America we believe in,’” the former president said.
Obama also appeared to respond indirectly to the recent controversy surrounding a video shared by Donald Trump that depicted him and Michelle Obama as apes.
Asked about the clip, Obama brushed it off, remarking that there is a “sort of clown show that’s happening on social media and on the television”.
