Passenger Allegedly Touched Sleeping Woman on Flight, Left ‘Shocking’ Note, Later Said It ‘Was Not a Big Deal’

Man caught red handed for touching fellow passenger inappropriately on a flight.
A woman was allegedly s------- abused by a man who sat next to her on a Miami-bound flight. According to court records, the woman was sleeping in the first-class cabin when the man, a French national, allegedly engaged in inappropriate behavior.
The man has been identified as Guillaume Sebastien Roger Mattler, 48. The victim, 29, was seated next to Mattler on a flight bound for Miami from Zurich. According to a complaint, two passengers witnessed the man's behavior when she dozed off.
The Man Tried To Pass A Disturbing Note After The Incident Happened
A 48-year-old man has been taken into custody for inappropriate behavior.
As reported by Local10 News, a witness allegedly saw the man touching the woman as she slept. One of the passengers quickly pulled out their phone and filmed the incident as evidence, while alerting another passenger.
According to the complaint, at one point, the witness became “very concerned” and called the flight attendant. When the flight attendant checked the situation, the attendant found Mattler with his hand on the woman’s private area over her jeans. He was allegedly making a rubbing motion.
An FBI agent wrote in the complaint, “Witness 2 observed Mattler moving his hand in a ‘submarine’ motion, as if trying to get his hand under the victim’s clothing and/or between her legs.”
After Mattler was caught, he did not confirm whether he knew the woman. The two were presumed to be strangers, and the man was moved to coach. The victim was woken and was “shocked” to learn what happened. According to a document, she “began shaking and crying.”
Man Hands a Note to Sleeping Woman on Flight
Man handed over a note to the 29-year-old woman he allegedly assaulted while she was asleep.
According to the complaint, Mattler returned to his first-class seat to retrieve his belongings. At that time, he allegedly tried to pass a note to the victim, which said, “You look beautiful when you are sleeping.”
After getting arrested, the man initially denied touching the woman. However, when he was shown video evidence, Mattler admitted that he touched her but “did not think it was such a big deal.”
Later, he admitted that “he touched whatever he could reach from across the armrest.” He also allegedly confessed to taking photos and deleting them before being caught. An FBI agent wrote, “Mattler advised his initial intention was to get the woman’s phone number and give her his. He then provided the note from his pocket that was written on his business card that read ‘you look cute when you sleep,’ along with the flight information and his seat number.”
The man has been charged with one count of abusive s----- contact, according to a federal criminal complaint obtained by The Post. He appeared in Miami federal court on April 29. He is scheduled to return on May 4.
