Three students and a teacher died, and several others were injured in a mass shooting at a school on April 15 in Turkey. The suspected shooter is allegedly an 8th grade student whose father is a police officer.

In the incident, four people were killed at Ayser Calik Middle School in Kahramanmaras, Turkey, and 20 were injured, according to reports by Turkish Radio and Television and CNN Türk, citing authorities.
First responders and police were dispatched to the school after receiving reports of gunfire outside the campus. According to initial reports, the suspect allegedly fired his gun into the schoolyard before entering the building.
Governor Mukerrem Unluer said at a press conference that the attacker in the incident had been identified as an 8th-grade student at Ayser Calik Middle School. He added that the student entered the school carrying weapons, including five guns and seven magazines in his backpack.
According to reports, Unluer said that the suspect entered the school, went into two classrooms and fired indiscriminately.
The governor confirmed that four people died, including three students and one teacher. Twenty others were injured, with four in critical condition.

Following the attack at the middle school, Turkey’s interior minister, national education minister and health minister traveled to Kahramanmaras.
Justice Minister Akin Gurlek announced that four chief inspectors and four additional officers had been assigned to investigate the incident.
“Our colleagues are currently continuing their investigation,” Kahramanmaras Chief Public Prosecutor Ramazan Murat Tiriyaki said.
“We are examining the matter from all angles. We have 20 injured. Currently, only the proprietor's body is at the school. Our forensic experts are arriving. Our colleagues are handling the matter,” he added.
The incident comes one day after another school shooting incident on April 14 in Sanliurfa, Turkey. The shooter, Omer Ket, injured 16 people at Ahmet Koyuncu Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School before turning the gun on himself.
