Seal Beach Shooting Sparks Manhunt as Suspect Is Arrested in Shocking Attempted Homicide Case

On May 10, multiple reports were received about a shooting in the 2900 block of Seal Beach Boulevard. A 40-year-old man was arrested in connection with the incident, which authorities later determined was an attempted homicide.

According to an official press release from the Seal Beach Police Department (SBPD), the suspect has been identified as Jessy Quintero, 40, of Crompton. Quintero was arrested and taken into custody at the Orange County Jail. Quintero is facing attempted homicide-related charges. The arrest was possible with the help of Irvine Police Department K-9 units, according to the press release.

According to officials, on May 11, around 7:03 p.m., officers with the SBPD responded to reports of gunfire in the 2900 block of Seal Beach Boulevard. When officers arrived at the scene, witnesses informed them that the suspect had fled the area immediately after the shooting. Officers launched an extensive search operation to locate him.

The suspect was eventually found hiding nearby. Multiple witnesses positively identified Quintero as police took him into custody. Authorities said that officers from the Cypress Police Department and the Los Alamitos Police Department also assisted with the search. The Anaheim Police Department deployed a helicopter unit to help locate the suspect.

Investigators also recovered two handguns from the area during an evidence search. The case remains active, with detectives continuing to review evidence, conduct witness interviews, and analyze surveillance footage from local businesses and homes. No further arrests have been made in connection with the shooting or the attempted homicide.

According to the press release, the victim did not sustain any injuries. Authorities have not revealed any possible motive behind the shooting or what led up to the incident. It also remains unclear whether the suspect and the victim knew each other.

The SBPD has urged people to come forward with any related information that could help solve the case. Anyone with related surveillance footage has also been asked to submit it.
