Seattle Man Accused of Stabbing Stepdaughter 107 Times After She Attempted to Stop Him From Assaulting Her Mother: Cops

A man from Seattle has been arrested after he allegedly stabbed his 21-year-old stepdaughter 107 times while she shielded her mother from his assault, according to authorities.

During the morning of Aug. 7, police were called to a home in Seattle’s Beacon Hill neighborhood and were met at the door by a visibly distressed woman who was bleeding from facial injuries, KING reported.

The woman let police into the home, which is when they saw the woman’s husband, later identified as Nghiep Kein Chau, coming down the staircase holding a large, blood-stained kitchen knife, authorities said.

Police told Chau to drop the knife, which he did. Officials said he was covered in blood and his right hand had fresh wounds on it, KING reported.

Officers placed Chau in handcuffs and then started searching the house. Police found the “obviously” dead body of Angelina Tran, the woman’s daughter and Chau’s stepdaughter, in the kitchen, according to KING.

Authorities said the entire incident was caught on security cameras inside the home, which showed Chau hitting his wife over and over again in the kitchen while she was trying to get away and calling for help.

Angelina is believed to have been awakened by the fighting and came into the kitchen and got between Chau and her mother, Linh Tran, KING reported.

Chau continued to punch his wife, occasionally hitting Angelina as well, officials said. Linh was able to eventually get away from her husband, with Angelina holding him back to keep him from following her mother.

Angelina and Chau then fell to the floor. He then allegedly dragged his stepdaughter toward the kitchen counters and took a knife from the drawer and started stabbing her, officials said.

Police said he stabbed her repeatedly, over 100 times, and she fell unconscious. He continued to stab her, even after she was dead, KING reported.

Authorities said Chau changed his clothes and then came back and got a meat cleaver from the kitchen drawer and used that to continue to stab Angelina.

When talking with police, Chau allegedly said, “I killed someone,” KIRO reported.

Chau was arrested and charged with murder and attempted murder, police said. His bail was set at $5 million.

Court records show Chau and Linh Tran were in a relationship for the last 19 years, having married last year.
