SNL Writer Jimmy Fowlie Mourns as LAPD Confirms His Missing Sister Christina Found Dead

Jimmy Fowlie’s 38-year-old missing sister Christina has been confirmed dead by LAPD
Saturday Night Live writer Jimmy Fowlie said in a statement that his 38-year-old sister, who had been missing, has been found dead. The victim, Christina Lynn Downer, had disappeared four months before her body was found.
In a public statement, Fowlie said his family believes foul play led to her death. Authorities said that, given the circumstances, the LAPD will now continue investigating the case as a homicide rather than a missing person case.
Jimmy Fowlie Mourns Missing Sister Found Dead
On April 30, Fowlie penned a long note on Instagram along with several pictures of him and his sister. The SNL writer revealed that the LAPD has confirmed Downer's death. He also mentioned that he and his family now want nothing more than the truth to come out, and those responsible to be held accountable.
He captioned the post as “Thank you for all your continued support during this terrible time. I’m gonna take a step back from social media due to the intense, overwhelming feelings. Please take any info you may have directly to the LAPD and not me.”

Although the victim had been found dead, her family believes that Downer’s phone had been stolen weeks before she went missing. They added that the individual who possessed her valuable property misled people about the 38-year-old purposely choosing to go off the grid. The thief reportedly also asked for money from different people using Downer’s phone.
Fowlie wrote, “We have reason to believe that in the weeks before she went missing, her phone and social media were compromised. The individual(s) in possession of her phone used it to hide the fact she was gone, to ask for money, and to create a false narrative that she was going ‘off the grid.’"
The SNL writer further added, “I am sharing this because I believe that whoever is responsible is hoping to erase her in every way possible. I want to amplify her story in the only way I know how. And to express that she was a beautiful person who matters in the world, especially to me.”
Jimmy Fowlie’s Sister Was Last Seen With Her Pet Pooch
According to a series of posts the comedian shared on his social media, Downer had been missing since November 2025. Sharing the official missing persons poster for her sister, Fowlie had stated that she was last seen in and around Los Angeles.
In a follow-up post, Fowlie said Christina could easily be spotted if someone noticed her pet dog. He claimed that his sister was quite close to her dog named Rex, and there was a high chance that she was with her at the time of her disappearance.
Fowlie further clarified that his sister had no known history of mental illness, which would provoke her to cut all ties with his family abruptly. He said, “I heard from her on Nov 26th. She was active on social media up to Dec 15th. At this time, the detectives have advised us not to share certain details so we don’t compromise the case. Thank you to everyone who has gotten the word out. I’ll share updates as I get them.”
