America’s one of the greatest living professional boxers of all time, Sugar Ray Leonard, appears to be dealing with a growing feud involving his youngest son. The 70-year-old, who has always managed to keep his personal life out of any kind of spotlight, is now facing increased public attention surrounding the family dispute

Leonard, who otherwise keeps a low profile, had recently filed a restraining order against her own son, Daniel. However, an unexpected turn of events happened recently on May 20, after the boxer’s youngest son was arrested on grounds of violating this very order put up by his father.

Sugar Ray Leonard’s Son Arrested For Trespassing

On May 20, news about Leonard’s youngest son, Daniel’s arrest, broke out all across social media. According to a TMZ report, the security team of the boxing legend had informed authorities about the 25-year-old attempting to get inside the residence.

He reportedly tried turning all the exterior door handles of the house, but to no avail.

When authorities were dispatched to the family residence, they found Daniel by the pool house. He was arrested and placed under misdemeanor charges. However, it has not been confirmed if Leonard was at his home during the time that the break-in was carried out.

An LAPD spokesperson later confirmed the arrest and mentioned, “On May 20, 2026, around 5:29 a.m., officers assigned to the West Los Angeles Area responded to the 1500 block of Amalfi Drive for a radio call of a restraining order violation. Officers arrived and took the suspect into custody for violating his restraining order."

Daniel’s hearing is scheduled for June 15 over the case.

Sugar Ray Leonard Had Issued A Restraining Order Against Daniel

Daniel’s alleged attempt to break into his father’s property became the subject of a criminal investigation. The incident came after the boxing legend filed a restraining order against his son.

While the exact reason behind the restraining order has not been revealed, some reports have suggested that Daniel’s reaction to the impending court order may have contributed to the alleged break-in attempt at Sugar Ray Leonard’s home.

Despite growing questions surrounding the apparent dispute between father and son, neither Leonard nor his wife, Bernadette Robi, has commented publicly on their son’s arrest. In fact, on the day the arrest was made, the boxer shared a sponsored social media post.

Sugar And Daniel’s Equation So Far

Going back a few more years before Daniel’s arrest, Ray Leonard seemed to be sharing a very warm and affectionate relationship with his son. For instance, back in 2023, the boxer wished Daniel on his birthday by sharing a photo with his son on Instagram.

He had written, “So happy to be with my son Daniel this weekend! I am so proud of you!!! Happy Birthday!!!”

Similarly, one more post on social media was about gratitude, which he shared with a picture of himself and his family at the dining table. While everyone looked happy and confident, it was Daniel who grabbed attention in one corner of the picture. He was seen trying to squeeze in a half smile for the occasion.
