On Oct. 30, officers with the Memphis Police Department called to the scene of the incident found a man suffering gunshot wounds in a parking lot, WHBQ-TV reported.

The man was transported to an area hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Two women, who were in a Dodge Durango with the suspect, 18-year-old Peter Vaca, and four other armed men, told investigators they exited the vehicle and heard gunfire after the vehicle turned into the parking lot where the victim was killed, states an affidavit obtained by WHBQ-TV.

The Durango’s rear window was shot out and the vehicle took off following the deadly shooting, according to the affidavit.

Officers located the Durango with its damaged back window at the suspect’s home, police said.

Vaca was charged with one count of first-degree murder and three counts of attempted first-degree murder.
