The viral arrest video shared on social media.

During the encounter, he repeatedly insisted he had “done nothing” and claimed he had been assaulted. A club security guard told officers that Witkoff tried to enter after being turned away and became involved in a physical altercation, according to police.

Officers can be heard warning Witkoff that he was resisting arrest by “tensing up” and interrupting their search.

At one point in the footage, Witkoff says, “I’m friends with Marc Roberts, I swear to God,” referring to the club’s owner. A security guard responds, “Nobody cares. Stop dropping names.”

World Liberty Financial Controversy

MORE ON:
Arrest

The resurfaced arrest comes as World Liberty Financial faces fresh legal trouble.

The company, which operates in the cryptocurrency space and issues $WLFI tokens, has been sued by crypto entrepreneur Justin Sun in federal court in California. Sun says he filed the lawsuit to “protect his legal rights” as a token holder.

“I have always been—and remain—an ardent supporter of President Trump and his Administration’s efforts to make America crypto friendly,” Sun wrote on X. “This lawsuit does not change how I feel about President Trump or the Trump Administration.”

Sun alleged the company wrongfully froze all of his tokens, stripped him of his ability to vote on governance proposals, and threatened to permanently destroy his holdings by “burning” them.

“I believe in fairness, transparency, and the principles that make crypto powerful. I will continue to fight for those principles,” he added.

Sun claimed that certain individuals on the World Liberty team have been operating the project in a manner that goes against President Trump’s values.

Witkoff pushed back on the claims, calling the lawsuit a “desperate attempt to deflect attention” from Sun’s own conduct.

“His claims are entirely meritless, and World Liberty looks forward to getting the case thrown out promptly,” Witkoff said.

Witkoff pushed back on the accusations leveled by Sun.

“He allegedly engaged in misconduct that required World Liberty to take action to protect itself and its users. World Liberty will continue to take all necessary steps to protect its community,” he added.
