Katy Perry Under Fire as Social Media Flooded With New Claims After Ruby Rose Accusation

After Ruby Rose accused Katy Perry of sexually assaulting her in a Melbourne nightclub nearly two decades ago, social media users began sharing screenshots of other women alleging uncomfortable encounters with the pop star, according to a report cited by ZAPZEE from Variety Australia.

However, those posts do not appear to have been independently verified by major news outlets.

“I want to thank all the brave women who have come forward with their stories about sexual abuse,” Rose wrote on Threads. “Especially the ones who went through the painful process of going through the police and court system.”

Rose, known for her roles in John Wick: Chapter 2, x*x: Return of Xander Cage, and The Meg, made the accusations in a Threads post on April 12.

The actress replied to a Complex article about the Dark Horse singer reacting to Justin Bieber's Coachella performance. “Katy Perry sexually assaulted me at spice market nightclub in Melbourne. Who gives a s--- what she thinks,” Rose claimed in the comment.

Rose added that she was “only in my early 20s” at the time of the alleged assault and “It has taken almost 2 decades to say this publicly,” according to People. “Though I am so grateful to have made it long enough to find my voice, it just shows how much of an impact trauma and sexual assault takes,” she said.

In a separate post, Rose alleged Perry saw her “resting” on her best friend’s lap to avoid her, when she bent down, “pulled her underwear to the side and rubbed her disgusting v*gina on my face until my eyes snapped open and I projectile vomited on her.”

Rose added that opening up about W on W (women-on-women) violence and sexual abuse “seemed to be 100 times harder than speaking about the male predators.”

Perry’s representative denied the allegations in an official statement on April 13.

“The allegations being circulated on social media by Ruby Rose about Katy Perry are not only categorically false, they are dangerous, reckless lies,” the representative claimed.

“Ms. Rose has a well-documented history of making serious public allegations on social media against various individuals, claims that have repeatedly been denied by those named.”

Victoria Police on April 15 said they are investigating the claims.

“Melbourne sexual offences and child abuse investigation team (SOCIT) detectives are investigating [an alleged] historical sexual assault that occurred in Melbourne in 2010,” a statement from the police said.

“Police have been told the incident occurred at a licensed premises in Melbourne’s CBD. As the investigation remains ongoing, it would be inappropriate to comment further at this stage,” they said.

Meanwhile, Rose said she is stepping back from public discussion after formally bringing her allegations against Perry to the police.

“Hi! Last update on this: As of this afternoon, I have finalized all of my reports,” Rose wrote, adding, “This means I am no longer able to comment, repost, or talk publicly about any of those cases, or the individuals involved,” The Blast reported.

“It’s going to look like I am ignoring everything from supportive messages, to other people’s experiences, but I’m not,” Rose continued.
