Savanah Hernandez was assaulted and chased off the street during an anti-ICE protest.
Savanah Hernandez, a journalist with Turning Point USA (TPUSA), was assaulted and chased off the street during an anti-Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) protest in Minneapolis, Minnesota, on April 12. Video footage of the incident has gone viral on social media.
Hernandez, who works for Turning Point USA (TPUSA), founded by Charlie Kirk, was filming the protest at the Bishop Henry Whipple Federal Building when multiple people reportedly attacked her. She said a “grown man pushed me to the ground.”
The Details
According to Hernandez, several women also swung at her after discovering she worked for TPUSA. “I wasn’t even interviewing people today,” she said. The 29-year-old claimed that a man named William Scott Kelly incited the mob against her.
Hernandez told The Post that she was at the location for almost an hour without incident. “Then one of the left-wingers identified me and a mob started forming,” she said.
Hernandez said a female protester began “very aggressively questioning me and getting in my face and shoving me,” adding that the woman called her a “N*zi” and “fascist.”
She said another woman began blowing a whistle near her face and punched her, knocking her to the ground.
“I very much realized then that they were not going to leave me alone, so I started walking out of the protest and, of course, they all followed me,” Hernandez said.

As Hernandez got up and tried to walk away again, another female protester attempted to confront her, shouting, “Don’t f–king hit my daughter!”
A male voice behind the camera can be heard yelling, “It’s over! It’s over!” as other attendees try to separate the women.
“Stop touching me!” Hernandez pleaded, as she was knocked off her feet again.
This time, she said her attacker was a man who can be seen in footage shoving the journalist to the ground with both hands while shouting, “Don’t f–king touch my daughter!”

The man who allegedly pushed Hernandez to the ground was identified as Chris Ostroushko, while the two women who attacked her were identified as his wife, DeYanna Ostroushko, and their daughter, Paige Ostroushko.
“You’re not going to get away with this. I am going to do everything in my power to make sure you’re charged for the brutal attack you committed against me,” Hernandez said on X.
She said that she is looking forward to seeing the charges pursued.

The Aftermath
The Hennepin County Sheriff’s Office said that the three individuals will be charged. Paige Ostroushko was caught on camera running away from deputies when they attempted to arrest her.
Deputies drove Hernandez to safety after the attack. She said the incident left her in shock. “My legs are scraped and my neck and back are sore,” she said.
“I’m waking up with a headache and stiff neck this morning due to how violently anti-ICE activist, Chris Ostroushko, shoved me down yesterday. I didn’t speak a word to him all day yet he repeatedly called me a b*tch and very clearly looks like he wanted to violently hurt me even worse than he did,” Hernandez said.
The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has launched a federal criminal investigation.
Meanwhile, Desiree Ostroushko, the estranged daughter of Chris and DeYanna Ostroushko, said that she has “chosen to distance” herself from her family and that she does not agree or align with them at all.
