UFL Coach Ted Ginn Jr. Faces DWI Charge in Texas, Issues Public Apology

UFL coach Ted Ginn Jr. was released on a $1,000 bond.
Ted Ginn Jr., the head coach of the Columbus Aviators, was arrested on April 11 for driving while intoxicated. According to Yahoo Sports, NBC Sports, and WSYX, the former National Football League (NFL) wide receiver was charged with alleged DWI in Tarrant County, Texas.
His arrest came just a day before his team was set to face the Dallas Renegades. He was released on a $1,000 bond. Following his arrest, Gin went on social media to issue a formal apology to fans.
Ginn Was Arrested After He Failed to Yield On A Turn
Ted Ginn Jr. was arrested in Texas for DUI on April 11.
According to WSYX, Ginn, 41, was stopped by police at around 1 a.m. on April 11 after he allegedly failed to yield on a turn. Officers conducted a field sobriety test, which he failed. He was arrested at the scene.
On April 12, the United Football League (UFL) head coach issued an apology on X. Ginn said, "I made a serious mistake and take full responsibility for my actions. I've always believed in accountability, and now it's my turn to live that standard."
He added, "I understand the responsibility that comes with being a leader & role model, and falling short of this is not something I take lightly. I'm committed to learning from this, making better decisions, and earning back the trust of my players, our organization, and the fans."
The coach continued, "I appreciate the support of my family and the United Football League, and I respect the process as it moves forward. My focus now is on taking the necessary steps to grow from this and represent the Columbus Aviators and this community the right way."
Todd Haley Replaces Ginn As Head Coach For Aviators

According to Yahoo Sports, following Ginn's arrest, Todd Haley, who is an offensive coordinator, would handle the head coach duties for the Aviators.
On April 12, UFL president and CEO Russ Brandon told WSYX, "We are aware of an incident involving Head Coach Ted Ginn Jr. over the weekend and are in the process of gathering more information."
In a written statement, Brandon said, "Offensive Coordinator Todd Haley will handle the head coaching duties for the Aviators game on Sunday."
Ginn played for six teams during his 14-year NFL career. After his college years at Ohio State, he became the No. 9 overall pick in the 2007 NFL Draft.
During his career, Ginn played for the San Francisco 49ers, New Orleans Saints, Carolina Panthers, Miami Dolphins, Arizona Cardinals, and Chicago Bears.
