A Virginia woman has been arrested after she was found burying her dog alive, police said.
On Jan. 13, the Dinwiddie Sheriff’s Office responded to a call from a neighbor who saw a woman burying her dog alive, according to ABC 8 News.
The suspect was later identified as Tiffany Nicole Camp, 33, ABC 8 News reported.
Deputies found the dog buried in a trash bag when they arrived, according to ABC 8 News.
The pit bull mix had open wounds and was in “rough shape,” according to the sheriff’s office, ABC 8 News reported.
The dog is currently at the Chesdin Animal Hospital and was still alive as of 11 a.m. on Jan. 14, according to ABC 8 News.
Camp has been arrested and charged with felony animal cruelty, ABC 8 News reported. Investigators have not said why Camp was trying to bury the dog.
