Washington Men Accused of Living Under Dead Children’s Identities Since 1990, Police Ask for Tips

Two adult males are allegedly been living under stolen identities since 1990.
Two Washington men in their 50s have been accused of assuming the identities of deceased children since 1990, with the Pasco Police currently investigating and appealing to the public for assistance in establishing their true identities.
In an official statement, authorities said the men have been using the identities of Tim Seifenfeld, born September 6, 1969, and Glenn Scotzin, born April 27, 1967, two young boys who died in separate accidents in Idaho in the 1970s.
“We need your help to identify two adult males who have allegedly been living under stolen identities since approximately 1990,” Pasco Police said.
The two men spent decades under identities taken from dead children.
Key Details
Authorities believe both individuals may have worked in the telecommunications industry in the early 1990s, but no employment records have been found. “Their work history and personal movements suggest ties to multiple states, including Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Arizona, Texas and California,” police said.
Their identities first surfaced in Salem, Oregon, and Seattle, Washington, in 1990. “Due to the length of time these individuals have operated under stolen identities, traditional identification methods have proven challenging,” said Detective Julie Lee, who urged the public to come forward with information about the men’s true identities.

Police have not stated whether the men are suspected of other crimes beyond identity theft.
“We’re not looking to find them. We’re well aware of their location,” Pasco Police Lt. Tom Groom told the Tri-City Herald. “We’re asking for information about how they’ve been living their lives with these appropriated names.”
Investigators have not said whether the men are accused of any crimes beyond identity theft.
The investigation is ongoing.
Social Media Reactions
A Facebook post by Pasco Police drew a wide range of public responses, including suggestions. “Other than living under false names, what did they do/what are they doing? Post this on Reddit and let the ‘Reddit detectives’ go after them,” one person wrote.
“If you post it on ‘Are We Dating the Same Guy’ pages, someone will know!” another suggested. “Time to get some DNA and go to AncestryDNA!” a third added.
“That’s why you contact the Social Security office as soon as one of your loved ones passes, and tell them that they have passed,” suggested one individual. “That way hopefully no one else can do this!”
“I feel like Social Catfish could plug these pictures into their reverse photo search and find something,” a social media user suggested.
Authorities urged anyone with information to contact Detective Lee at leej@pasco-wa.gov or call 509-545-3421.
