Accused in The Murder Of Rebecca Park and Her Unborn Child Goes Free

Charges against Rebecca Park’s sister, Kimberley Park, were dismissed without prejudice, authorities said.
In a shocking twist, criminal charges against the sister of a pregnant woman who was allegedly killed and had her baby removed from her womb in 2025 have been dismissed, authorities said.
Kimberley Park, 21, previously pleaded not guilty to tampering with evidence, lying to a police officer and filing a false report of a felony in the death of her sister, Rebecca Park, 22.
Rebecca Park had been due to give birth Nov. 18, 2025, before her gruesome murder.
What Happened
According to the Michigan Department of Attorney General, Rebecca, who was approximately 38 weeks pregnant at the time, was lured into the residence of her biological mother Cortney Bartholomew and her stepfather Bradly Bartholomew in Wexford County on November 3.
The couple then allegedly tortured Rebecca in an attempt to remove the unborn infant, resulting in the death of both.
After an extensive search, Rebecca’s remains were found in the Manistee National Forest on November 25.
Rebecca’s autopsy revealed that she was no longer pregnant, prompting investigators to work “diligently to determine the condition and potential whereabouts of the baby.” The baby’s remains were never found.
The couple were charged with multiple felony charges including first-degree murder, felony murder, torture, assault on a pregnant individual causing miscarriage/stillbirth and removal of a dead body.
Each charge carries a potential life sentence.
Rebecca Park's mother and stepfather were charged in connection with her death.
People Magazine reported that Kimberly was arrested and taken into custody hours after Rebecca’s body was discovered. She was released a week later after her bail was reduced from $750,000 to $5,000 and has been on house arrest with electronic monitoring.
The victim’s fiancé and the father of the unborn child, Richard Falor, was arrested on unrelated drug charges the night Rebecca’s body was discovered, reported CourtTV.
What Kimberley Park Told Police
Kimberley Park reportedly cooked up multiple stories, first saying the Bartholomews hit Rebecca in the head, causing her to have a seizure. She claimed Rebecca never woke up after that.
It was later discovered that Kimberley was having a romantic relationship with her sister’s fiancé, Falor.
She then told detectives that it was Falor who asked her to lie about the incident and alleged that it was him who killed Rebecca. She claimed Falor admitted to cutting open Rebecca’s womb and removing the baby out.
However, Falor has not been charged with or investigated for any wrongdoing in the murder case.
Why the Charges Were Dismissed
According to the Michigan Attorney General’s Office, the charges were dismissed without prejudice, and they can be refiled at a later date.
“The prosecutions of Cortney and Brad Bartholomew will continue before the Court, and a decision on whether or when to re-charge Kimberly Park will be made in accordance with the pursuit of justice.”
The cases against Cortney Bartholomew and Brad Bartholomew were placed on hold in May, 2026 after the court ordered an investigation into the defendants’ competency, WPBN reported.
Authorities previously said the couple admitted they planned to abduct the baby because they could not legally adopt a child due to Bradly Bartholomew being a registered sexual offender.
