Arizona Man Murders Parents at Home for ‘Putting Him on Medication,’ Calls 911 to Confess

Jonathan Turk called Peoria Police at approximately 6:29 p.m. on March 31 to report that he murdered his parents.
A Peoria man allegedly murdered his parents in cold blood and dialed 911 to report the crime, authorities said. The suspect, 29-year-old Jonathan Turk, is believed to have a history of mental health issues.
According to investigators, the incident unfolded at a residence near 83rd Avenue and Jomax Road. The victims, identified as 63-year-old Fraser Turk and 56-year-old Tina Turk, were found dead inside their home.
Details from the Investigation
According to investigators, Jonathan Turk called Peoria Police at approximately 6:29 p.m. on March 31 to report that he murdered his parents.
On the call, Turk reportedly said he murdered his parents with a hammer and a knife because “he got mad at them for putting him on medication,” according to court records.
Fox10 Phoenix reported that Turk told authorities he would be “stepping outside with a water bottle in his hand and would wait for officers.”
After the killings, Jonathan Turk called 911 himself and admitted to the murders.
Turk allegedly discarded the murder weapon in a nearby trash can and refused to speak during police interrogation. Investigators also said the victims had filed “multiple mental health petitions” concerning their son.
A state attorney noted during Turk’s court appearance, “We have concerns about his mental health and mental stability at this time.”
Turk’s History of Mental Health Struggles
Jonathan Turk was reported missing on May 4, 2023, before being located by Peoria Police. He left his residence in a silver 2008 Hyundai Tiburon bearing Arizona license plate CEY9766.
Family members said he was on several daily medications for underlying medical conditions.
Jonathan Turk is believed to have a history of mental health issues.
Community Reeling From Shock
Neighbors expressed shock after the incident.
One resident said, “I saw the mother, and she was normal and very kind. I said hi, and she said hi, so it’s very sad to hear that happened.”
Another neighbor added, “It was just a gut feeling. Like, a bad feeling. Like something was not right. I just always tried to walk on the other side of the street when I saw him out, and I just felt really uncomfortable because I have kids."
Turk’s Charges
Jonathan Turk has been charged with two counts of first-degree murder and two counts of second-degree murder. A judge set a $2 million cash-only bond, and a preliminary hearing is scheduled for April 9, Fox10 Phoenix reported.
