California man was arrested and charged with multiple felony charges after investigators recovered illicit videos from his vacation rental property.
A 44-year-old California man identified as Christian Parmale Edward, from Oakhurst in Madera County, was arrested and booked into jail on March 23. Investigators found more than 4,000 illicit digital files at the vacation rental property owned by Edward, according to The Fresno Bee. Edward had also rented out the home to short-term guests.
Detectives alleged that Edward not only possessed and distributed the materials, but also secretly recorded guests during private moments without their knowledge. This conduct led to an additional charge of violation of privacy against Edward.
The investigation began after authorities received a tip from the National Centre for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC), which flagged suspected online distribution activity in the area. Authorities served a search warrant on March 19 at the Granite Butte Way property, seizing multiple electronic devices now undergoing forensic analysis.

The case is being handled in cooperation with the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force in Central California. Authorities said they continue to search for potential victims who may have stayed at the rental property. An image of the home has also been circulated as part of the ongoing investigation.
Edward remains in custody, with bail set at $75,000. He has yet to enter a plea.
“Protecting the innocent, upholding the law, and holding offenders accountable remains a top priority,” said Madera County Sheriff Tyscon Pogue, emphasizing the department's commitment to public safety.
This case has emerged during a broader surge in online exploitation.
The Internet Watch Foundation reported a record 291,273 cases of child sexual abuse material in 2024, averaging nearly 800 cases per day, one of the highest totals in the last decade.
