More than two months after Nancy Guthrie’s disappearance, another ransom note has been received, claiming that the 84-year-old grandmother is dead. However, the note has not been sent by the kidnapper, but rather by a witness who claims to know where Nancy’s body is buried.

TMZ received the message on April 6, in which the sender demanded half-bitcoin in exchange for details about Nancy’s alleged burial site. The same anonymous individual had earlier issued a message on February 11, seeking one bitcoin for information about Nancy.

Ransom Note Claims Nancy Guthrie is Dead

Speaking about the note, TMZ founder Harvey Levin said, “We got another letter today from this person, an email saying, ‘I know where her body is, and who the kidnapper is, give me half a bitcoin, and I’ll tell you.’”

The message claimed that Nancy had already died, but investigators have not yet officially confirmed her fate. The sender also expressed frustration over the extensive investigation, saying the family could have saved themselves some trouble by paying the ransom.

“She is dead. It’s unbelievable that millions have been wasted and yet here I am willing to deliver them on a silver platter since the 11th of february for a bitcoin but I am disregarded as a scam … they are free and the case is frozen but the ego’s remain hot when it comes to me. Arrogance at its finest,” read the note.

After Levin revealed that TMZ had received the note, the outlet received another message from the same sender. This time, the ransom seeker claimed they had last seen Nancy with her kidnapper in Sonora, Mexico.

“I saw her alive with them in the state of Sonora, Mexico,” the second note read. Sonora is a Mexican state that borders Arizona, the state where Nancy went missing. The woman’s house in the Catalina Foothills neighborhood is just 70 miles away from the border.

The sender is now seeking half-bitcoin to reveal where Nancy’s body is. They say they will need half-bitcoin more when the kidnapper gets arrested. The ransom seeker has also made it clear that they had nothing to do with the crime and only want to help Nancy’s family in exchange for money.

“I just want whats fair and to live peacefully with enough to start my life again quietly with out having to join a witness protection program,” the second note read. The sender also revealed that they have resided outside the US for the last five years.

TMZ says it has shared the two notes with the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), but the agency seems doubtful about its legitimacy. On the other hand, the Pima County Sheriff’s Office, which is investigating the case along with the FBI, has stated that all the tips are being taken seriously.

Nancy, the mother of Savannah Guthrie, has been missing since February 1. Despite thousands of leads and clues, the Pima County Sheriff’s Office and the FBI have not been able to locate her. No arrests have been made in the case even after more than nine weeks of probe.
