Tionee Spears allegedly drove through a barricaded area on February 27 and ran over a man's body.

Deputies were closing the street to traffic when the running over incident involving the 26-year-old occurred. The woman identified as Tionee Spears allegedly drove through a barricaded area on February 27 and ran over a man's body, according to authorities.

The man had already been pronounced dead when Spears' car crashed into the crime scene. The victim's body had been covered with a white sheet after authorities pronounced him dead on the scene because he had allegedly been struck by two vehicles earlier.

According to Bexar County Sheriff, Javier Salazar, the victim was a 61-year-old man who was first clipped by a car’s side mirror near the State Highway 211 and later struck by a second driver as he lay on the roadway. The victim was pronounced dead on the scene before Spears drove over his body.

Spears also nearly struck two deputies who were investigating the earlier crash, Salazar said during the press conference. No one else was injured during the crash involving Spears.

Deputies suspected Spears was intoxicated and said she was in possession of khat, a stimulant plant native to Africa that can lowers one’s pain tolerance. The Sherriff said, the drug has “extremely measurable effects on the human body." The investigators, however, are awaiting toxicology results to determine whether Spears had consumed the substance.

Authorities said, the toxicology report will reveal whether or not Spears had drugs in her system or was taking any other substance when she crashed into the barricaded crime scene.

Both the drivers who allegedly hit the 61-year-old man remained at the scene, and Salazar said investigators do not suspect criminal wrongdoing by either driver.

Spears was booked into the Bexar County Adult Detention Center and was charged with driving while intoxicated, abuse of a corpse, and possession of a controlled substance, authorities said.

During the press conference, Salazar said, “I have been doing this job for 33 years now and never heard of somebody barreling through a crime scene like that and running over a dead body that is already on the roadway.”

Authorities said it was not clear why the 61-year-old man was on the roadway when he was already hit. A black Chrysler 300 registered to the victim was found near the scene, police said.
